Painting and Drawing the Italian Landscape

from $1,100.00

In person workshop October 5 - 11, 2026

Join me for a week long experience painting and drawing the wild landscape and small hilltop towns in the Sabina region of Italy. Located just one hour north of Rome, the region is famous for its olive oil and wild landscape.

This workshop is open to all media and levels of experience, allowing you to explore new techniques, or using what you are already comfortable working with. Upon registration I will provide you with a suggested materials list, and we will individually discuss what mediums are best for you to work in personally.

The group will be small and intimate, allowing us to work together 1-on-1 and share a group experience with each other as well as getting to know the locals and our host family. The workshop is not only an artistic experience, but a cultural and historic one in getting to know the region intimately.

We will stay in a small family’s farmhouse Le Moe sul Farfa, located on the outskirts of Mompeo, Italy.

We will spend two days painting on the farm, one day in the neighboring town of Salisano, one day at the ancient Farfa Abbey, a world Unesco Heritage site, and one day at my home and studio.

We will work 3 hours in the morning and evening with a break for lunch in between. Each person is free to take time off at any point should they want a free period.

The cost of the workshop covers transport to and from the local train station (which runs twice an hour from Rome and the Fiumicino airport), and all meals except for 2 lunches out. The tuition does not include travel insurance or materials.

If you would prefer to make a deposit rather than pay the full tuition, you can do so by contacting me.

The fee schedule is as follows:

50% deposit due by April 30, with the remaining balance due by August 30.

Full refunds are available through April 1, 50% refund until July 1 , no refund after September 1.
